Henrik Dam graduated in 1990 as M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Aalborg University, Denmark. He has worked with the European Commission since 2003 on the areas Renewable Energy, smartgrids, active demand, electric vehicles, energy storage technologies, innovation, and SMEs. He is currently senior expert in DG ENERGY in the unit C2, Decarbonisation and Sustainability of Energy Sources. He deals with both the Renewables Directive (RED II and RED III) and the gas market package with particular focus on guarantees of origin, certification, consumer information, hydrogen  and gas network planning, offshore wind co-existence with defence, and the monitoring of Member State achievement of RES targets.
